If you have a child who is in 4th grade or above, you know they will need to prepare book reports, presentations, graphs and charts. Give your child the computer skills they need so they can focus on the project rather than the mechanics. Proficiency in these skills will become a vital need as your child progresses thru middle school and high school.
Objectives - The first objective of this class is to help improve your child's typing skills. They will use Microsoft Word to write their own memoir, autobiography, or short story. Second, your child will learn basics of Microsoft Excel, including formatting, creating charts & graphs and writing simple formulas. Third, he/she will learn the fundamental PowerPoint skills needed to prepare a presentation for a school project. Finally, your child will learn how NOT to plagerize and how NOT to violate trademark and copyright laws when using sources on the internet.
What to Bring - While it is not necessary, it would be helpful if your child had a project, story, or perhaps autobiography in mind. Digital pictures would be helpful to create a more detailed presentation on a topic of interest.
